Whip It (PG-13, Drama, Action) D+

A high school girl (Ellen Page) keeps participating in small beauty pageants to please her mom even though she doesn't like them. When she attends a women's Roller Derby competition she falls in love with the sport and decides to join without getting her mom's approval. The roller derby scenes were fun to watch but the rest of the movie was too predictable. This is one of those movies that tries too much to be sentimental and just ends up failing as a result.
