Super 8 (PG-13, Thriller. Sci-Fi) C

Set in 1979 a group of kids is filming a movie at a rural train station.  They then witness a pick-up run into the train, which derails it, and sets free some type of creature.  The kids don’t see the creature until later in the movie after it has been terrorizing the town’s people.  While the train derailment was entertaining to watch it was too exaggerated with cars flying all over the place; they were flying to high from just running into a small truck.  It takes too long for us to learn all the details about the creature or monster.  Once the details are revealed the movie gets more interesting but this doesn’t happen until nearly the end of the movie.  This was just another run of the mill monster movie.  Be sure to stay during the credits to see the kids’ filmed work.
