Sucker Punch (PG-13, Action, Sci-Fi) C

Baby Doll’s mom has passed away and is left alone with her stepfather and her younger sister. He kills Baby doll’s sister and frames her for the murder which leads to Baby Doll being sent to a psychiatric ward were he has arranged for a lobotomy to be performed on her. While there was almost enough material here for a good story this film is about Baby Doll trying to escape her world by dreaming up a better world in her head which is what we get to see. Throughout most of the film I was confused as to what was real or wasn’t, well except for four short like films were Baby Doll and her friends dress in some sexy outfits and fight some monsters. By themselves these short films were fun to watch and had some great music in the background. I would have still preferred to see what was really happening and to have a more traditional story.
