Splice (R, Sci-Fi, Horror) C+

Clive (Adrian Brody) and Elsa (Sarah Polley) are two scientists that create new species or creatures by combining different types of animals. When their experiment is successful they decide to create a new species by using human DNA. Their boss doesn’t approve of this so they have to do it in secret. They end up getting a creature that looks somewhat human which acts more like an animal. The trailer for this movie makes it appear that this will be a horror movie. What could be considered the horror part doesn’t occur until the last few minutes of the movie. It turned out to be more about their keeping the experiment a secret and trying to raise the creature as if it were their own child.
