Shutter Island (R, Drama, Thriller) C+

In the 1950’s a U.S. Marshall (Leonardo DeCaprio) and his partner (Mark Ruffalo) arrive at an island where criminally insane people are kept. A patient has escaped the facility but no one seems to be able to explain how. The medical administrator (Ben Kingsley) and his staff don’t seem to be very forthcoming in helping with the investigation. There are some excellent actors in this film directed by Martin Scorsese; unfortunately there are too many scenes that involve a dream sequence or some type of hallucination. After a while they were too repetitive and boring. The ending is open to interpretation which is something I don’t generally like.
