Emma (Natalie Portman) and Adam (Ashton Kutcher)
are friends who agree to only have sex with each other since Emma is too
busy with work for anything more. Adam on the other hand is just glad to
have sex with a girl he’s always liked and it’s clear from the
beginning that he expects their agreement will turn into something more
meaningful. There is a subplot involving Adam’s Dad (Kevin Kline)
that is what provides a lot of the comedy for the film.
