Nerd Wars! (Unrated, Comedy) A-

This independent short film is about a boy named Alfonso that is constantly bullied by the other kids for saying or doing the wrong thing.  Alfonso’s consolation seems to be that he is the top nerd in his school; he can answer every question from the teacher and get the best grades.  When a new boy named Marty arrives from India Alfonso soon discovers that he has some competition.  The seed for the nerd wars is thereby planted.  The target audience for this film is school children, but as an adult I found myself laughing out loud various times, more so than in most full length movies. There is a dancing part that felt a bit long, I would have liked a little more back and forth between the top nerds instead.  For a short film that was produced with a very small budget it was very entertaining and fun to watch.
