Micmacs (R,
Comedy, Drama) B+
In this French movie a man named Bazil had to grow
up as an orphan when his Mom can’t cope with life because her husband
has been killed by a land mine. While working at a video store Bazil gets
accidentally shot in his forehead. He manages to live relatively unharmed.
While he is trying to get his life back in order he meets a group of people
that help him out as he also tries to get back at the arms companies that
have had such a negative impact on his life. The first half of the movie
was the most interesting part of the entire film. Once it is clear what
Bazil is going to do and how he is going to do it the movie gets a bit weighed
down. Some of the character’s eccentricities are overplayed a bit
too much.
