Killer Elite (R, Action, Thriller) C+

A professional hit man (Jason Statham) gets coerced into accepting a job to kill a group of former British soldiers.  When a former soldier (Clive Owen) realizes that some of his friends are being targeted he begins an investigation to stop the murders.   Even though it’s based on a true story it felt as if the film makers wanted to put in their own political commentary which just ruins these types of films.  Most of the film takes place from the point of view of the hit men thereby making it difficult to have a vested interest in the characters.  It would have been better if it were made from the point of view of Clive Owen’s character.  The action scenes were good though and realistic in the sense that no one is doing wild stunts.
