Hugo (PG, Fantasy, Drama) A-

A boy named Hugo lives by himself inside the mechanism for a clock at a train station in France.  He is obsessed with fixing a small mechanical man they refer to as an automaton.  While trying to find parts to fix it he runs into trouble with Georges (Ben Kingsley).  As punishment Georges takes Hugo’s notes on how to fix the automaton.  Hugo has to then find a way to get his notes back but as events unfold he learns that there is a whole story involving this automaton.  This beautiful film directed by Scorsese really draws you into Hugo’s world.   The trailer tells you that Hugo’s father disappears mysteriously but this is actually explained in the movie.  It’s better than having one of those trailers that summarize the whole movie!
