Green Lantern (PG-13, Action, Sci-Fi) C+

An alien from outer space crashes on Earth and gives his ring with special powers to Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds).  I was really looking forward to this film but it wasn’t nearly as good as I expected it to be.  One origin story is usually enough per movie, but this film was so lacking in a good story or writing that it has three origin stories.  It’s one of these films were the best part of the story is told in a narration.  In 2009 there was an animated movie for the Green Lantern called “First Flight” which was far better than this movie.  They should have copied the script word for word to make this film.  The special effects were good and fun to watch but sometimes Hal Jordan looked too CGI.  The transition between the parts of the movie and the flow of the story could have been better too.  I’m glad I didn’t pay extra to go see it in 3-D.
