Ghost of Girlfriend’s Past (PG-13,
Romantic Comedy) B+
A famous photographer (Matthew McConaoughey) is
extremely popular with women. He believes in just sleeping with them and
then moving on to the next one even if they fall in love with him. When
he attends his brother’s wedding he is confronted by his first love
(Jennifer Garner) and visited by three ghosts that show him how he is missing
out on a meaningful relationship. There was one scene with one of the ghosts
(Michael Douglas) that was excessively mushy. The rest of the time the movie
has a good balance between comedy and sentiment. The plot was also more
complex than expected which was a great surprise.
