Despicable Me (PG, Animated, Comedy, Action) A-

Gru (Steve Carell) is an evil villain has been outdone by another villain who has stolen a pyramid in Egypt. In order to be the top villain he needs to steal something bigger but he runs into a dead end when he needs to break into a house. As a result he decides to adopt three little girls and use them only to accomplish his plan. But once the girls get to his house he finds he can’t control them as easily as he expected. Steve Carell did an excellent job with Gru’s accent which was also great since I don’t usually like to recognize the actor’s voice when he’s playing a cartoon. Gru himself wasn’t that funny but the girls were and the minions he has helping him were surprisingly funny. This is the best animated movie of the summer!
