Beginners (R, Drama) D+

Oliver’s (Ewan McGregor) father Hal (Christopher Plummer) comes out of the closet.  The trailer I saw for this film gave the impression that the whole story would be about this fact.  Instead it is mostly about Oliver starting a new relationship after his father dies.  Throughout the movie we get gradual flashbacks from the point when Hal finds out he has cancer.   The film was too slow for my taste.
