The Artist (PG-13, Drama) A

This is a beautiful black and white silent film; made in the same style as the silent films of the 1920’s.  The story is about a well-established actor named George who has a difficult time transitioning to talkies (films with sound).  It also follows George’s new love interest despite his being a married mad.  With all the buzz about 3D these days this film was very refreshing, I might be willing to pay extra in the future to see black and white films with no sound!  It shows what an excellent story, excellent characters and a screenplay that gets you emotionally entranced in the film can do.
