500 Days of Summer (PG-13, Comedy, Drama) A-

This movie starts out with the narrator describing Tom as a young man who believes he won’t be happy until he finds his soul mate. When he feels like he has found his one true love it turns out she doesn’t believe in relationships so Tom has to try to win her over without scaring her away. The narrator in the movie does an excellent job at making the movie more interesting that what it would normally be and it’s perfectly balanced, there isn’t too much or too little of it. There’s also a creative sequence towards the end of the movie that was excellent, it shows two possible plot lines at the same time. This movie sets itself apart from the usual romantic comedy.
