A struggling author (John Cusack) learns that the
world is about to end and that a secret group of thousands of people will
get to board some special ships. As soon as he finds out he rescues his
family which happens to be just seconds before the Earth starts to disintegrate.
The special effects in this film were excellent and great to watch but there
are too many plot conveniences and too many characters to keep track of
or interest in. We also get too many explanations about what is happening
to the Earth.
